Pirata Group Announces new Spanish concept, CALLE OCHO
First major restaurant opening of 2023 to be a multi-storey tapas restaurant coming soon to Fashion Walk, Causeway Bay
Hong Kong`s curator of extraordinary and memorable experiences, Pirata Group, will bring their hometown some good news to start 2023 with the imminent arrival of a brand new restaurant concept – Calle Ocho.
A convivial tapas restaurant and bar inspired by Spain`s historic Madrid de Los Austrias neighborhood, Calle Ocho will join the dining community at Fashion Walk and become Pirata Group`s 25th venue in Hong Kong, and 27th overall. Named for its location on 8 (Ocho) Cleveland Street in Causeway Bay, Calle Ocho encompasses over 2,500 square feet of space and 130 seats across two storeys on a corner site overlooking Victoria Park and Fashion Walk. Designed by Pirata Group`s in-house design team, the venue welcomes guests with a striking tiled facade and bespoke artwork that evoke hallmarks of Iberian ambience such as the spacious plazas, narrow streets, and warm, inviting enclaves that make Iberian dining so special.
Spanish cuisine has come a long way Executive Chef Victor Caballe Molina brings globally minded Spanish cooking at its most exciting to Calle Ocho. The Calle Ocho menu travels the length and breadth of Spain, from the humble Pan con Tomate made with fresh tomato and herbaceous olive oil, to the playful `Uni-Cone` featuring tuna tartar crowned with sea urchin; a selection of indulgent Charcuteria with traditional cold cuts and cheeses, Grilled Cuttlefish, Clams Clay Pot, Spanish Suckling Pig Boneless Terrine, a wholesome Vegetales section, three kinds of Tortilla, and a show-stopping squid ink Paella packed with octopus, crispy calamari, king prawns, mussels and clams, finished off with an indulgent and slightly salty‘Candela` Manchego Cheesecake. All in all, the menu is brimming with tempting treats, Spanish wines and delightful sangria variants.
With prices from HKD45, Calle Ocho has set its sights on being the most accessible high quality Spanish restaurant experience in Hong Kong, one which turns first time diners into quick converts to the tapas, wine and Iberian fiesta lifestyle.
