Pirata Group Announce H2 2021 Growth Plans

Hong Kong`s curator of extraordinary, memorable experiences, Pirata Group, will continue on the  growth path in the second half of the year with an additional six restaurants and points of service for  the local market.

The headline of the expansion effort will be The Sixteenth : a self-contained dining destination in Quarry Bay comprising four brand-new restaurant concepts. Boasting a gross area of 18,000 sq. ft. and 400 seats, The Sixteenth will be the largest, integrated, all-day F&B development in the district with the view to serve the dining, entertainment and event needs of the hundreds of companies headquartered in Taikoo Place. The Sixteenth will also welcome thousands of leisure guests who frequent the eastern corridor.

The Sixteenth will house four unique dining concepts. These include La Favorita, a flamboyant and celebratory venue of quintessential 1980`s Sicilian dining experiences designed by Pirata Group`s Senior Interior Designer Archie Haig, which will then extend outwards to Tempo Tempo – an eccentrically styled outdoor terrace bar and garden that will transport guests to Sicily for alfresco sundowners. The Sixteenth will also feature TMK Funk & Rolls an all-things-disco inspired iteration of Pirata Group`s  signature temakeria concept and Honjokko a sushi-focused extension with a more intimate and delicate interpretation of Pirata Group`s contemporary Japanese restaurant Honjo. Each venue will  come together as a whole within The Sixteenth to form an all-day dining, social and nightlife destination for Eastern Hong Kong Island. In addition to The Sixteenth, Pirata Group also plans to add a seventh Hong Kong-based Pici Pasta Bar in the second half of 2021, this time in Tseung Kwan O, opening up the Eastern Kowloon side market  for the celebrated Italian restaurant brand. This new arrival will join Kennedy Town and Shanghai as new Pici venues added to the portfolio during 2021, taking the overall number of Pici Pasta Bars to eight  worldwide in only four years` time.

The Eastern Kowloon market will be further developed by the group`s fourth Deliveroo kitchen in  Kowloon Bay, for two of its core brands : pasta bar, Pici, and The Pizza Project, which will open in August.  The addition of these kitchens will take the number of service areas for the two brands to fourteen  globally.

The second half growth announcement of Pirata Group operations comes on the back of an active H1  for the company that has seen the number of restaurants grow by five, to twenty venues overall. This  began with the opening of TMK Rap & Rolls within Wan Chai`s Star Street Precinct in February, before  a Pici Pasta Bar was launched in Kennedy Town alongside debut international moves for The Pizza  Project and Pici in Shanghai, all in June. This growth has culminated in the group`s grandest standalone  project to date: Pane e Latte – an authentic coastal Italian panetteria in Stanley. Open in July, the all day cafe and eatery caters to the entirety of the Southside dining public with a wide range of delicious,  artisanal pastries, Aperitivo and more across breakfast, lunch, brunch, dinner and more.

Remarking on Pirata Group`s forthcoming expansion plans, Co-Founder & CEO Manuel Palacio said  `Our growth is testament to the outstanding efforts of our teams over the past few years, adapting and  overcoming tremendous challenges to the market, and of course the support of all of our guests and  supporters who`ve been encouraging us to go big. Expansion means bringing in more outstanding local  and international talent to our teams, serving more guests, and creating meaningful impact to more  communities in our beloved home Hong Kong.`
