The Pici Pasta Run Returns for 2022
Second edition of costumed virtual race for charity has racers go between first-ever Pici in Wanchai and the newest outpost in Taikoo Place
We are proud to formally announce the return of the PICI PASTA RUN for its second consecutive year. Coming on Sunday 23 October 2022, the run will invite fans of iconic pasta bar brand Pici to dress up in costumes and enjoy a bit of exercise and Italian food together, as they journey from the original Pici venue in Wanchai all the way to soon-to-open newest venue in Taikoo Place.
The inaugural Pici Pasta Run, held in June 2021, featured over 260 costumed runners dashing through the streets of Hong Kong from Wanchai to the then newest Pici in Kennedy Town, posing for selfies, pounding down pastas and raising over HKD40,000 for charity in the process. Based on the positive reaction to the first run, Pici’s management team knew it was only a matter of time when they would announce a follow-up event.
Pici Pasta Run 2022 participants enter as groups of four via runnerreg.com and can select from three time slots to embark on the run to accommodate for a more safe, socially distanced activity. The activity begins at the first-ever Pici, located on 16 St Francis Yard, Wan Chai, where a free carbs-load of morning pasta is given to every runner. From there participants embark on a roughly 7km trek all the way to the finish line at Lincoln House in Taikoo Place where drinks, desserts and more prizes await.
As with the first Pici Pasta Run, it will not be the fastest team that wins but those who have the most creative, funky and fun time competing. All teams who get to the end will be rewarded with Pici mementos, free food and a medal. The best costumed teams from all three starting times will each be eligible to win one of three grand prizes: Gold Prize of free pasta for an entire month for one team of 4, Silver Prize of one week of free pasta for another team, and Bronze Prize of a free brunch extravaganza for the final costumed team. All prizes can be consumed at any of the eight Pici Pasta Bar venues in Hong Kong.
The cost to enter the PICI PASTA RUN is HKD250 per person with fees being donated to MIND HK, a locally registered charity who is committed to improving awareness and understanding of mental health in Hong Kong. The activity is open to persons of all ages and backgrounds.
